I don’t even want to make the same comment 3 times in a row now but like wtf maguire. That was such bad defending

Cunha and Maguire. Cunha didn't track, Maguire didn't step up quick enough.
Edit: it was Cunha, not Bruno.

That's the jarring part: everyone around Paz either doesn't know what they're supposed to do, or know but didn't act. Bizarre lack of organization/initiative for any professional football club, let alone Manchester United.

Arsenal did the same thing 2x against Brighton, and they punished us with 2 bangers. So it happens, just a question of will teams learn from it.

this might be too in the urban planning weeds
but the one more lane bro crowd and united fans thinking the next manager is the one are spiritually the same concept

United inducing demand for managers

I love weird niche intersections like this

They call this ball watching.

saw number 10 and was like classic rashford, not even trying in defense. forgot they changed numbers lol, but still same issue

let the man cook for another, let's say, 2 seasons

Nico Paz paid homage to him too by doing his iconic knee slide

Its disrespectful defending. To give someone such space is to ridicule them... to take them for a mug. Except when they smash it in the back of the net.
He's been a bit too happy to try and disrespect those around him though, like versus Tottenham.
14. u/miregalpanic · 2026-10-21 17:06 UTC
I don't think he is actively disrespecting anyone, he is just shit
15. u/SPIRITUAL_BANDIDO · 2026-10-21 17:14 UTC
I swear when I call him shit I get slaughtered. Perplexing what people are seeing in him

The mocking of him got to be a bit too much at one point, so in classic fashion Redditors overcorrected in the opposite direction and started claiming that he was actually amazing.
The reality is that he isn't the worst footballer ever, but he's also nowhere near good enough to be playing at the level that United should be striving for.

This is a club where Diogo Dalot has made 250 appearances, this seems to be exactly the level they've grown comfortable with
18. u/AnonyMouseAndJerry · 2026-10-21 17:58 UTC
He's an Evans, Wes Brown, John O'Shea level defender. How he's been a starter for half a decade is beyond me
19. u/SPIRITUAL_BANDIDO · 2026-10-21 17:33 UTC
I hear it from fans in real life too. Gets cut too much slack imo his lowlight tape is probably hours long. It’s to the point where I’m mad when he does good, ik those few glimpses will keep him at United for more months

I think it's more that he's really slow so he can't stay that tight on the guy he's marking otherwise he'll just get blown by.
