I honestly think that may be the best pass I've ever seen. That may be slightly hyperbolic but imagine if de bruyne or someone had done that with a bouncing ball in that position. You'd see it on repeat for years

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pass that’s both through the eye of a needle and so perfectly weighted.
It’s flawless, splits 3 defenders, curls and slows down at the last second so the attacker doesn’t even break stride.

I’d love to see a close of the ball just to gaze at the motion of it. I bet it had a beautiful backspin on it.

The way it spins, slows down and curves right in his run at the perfect time, orgasmic. And it looks like he meant it.

Well I don’t think it was an accident

Yeah, it was 1 on 1 quick visual communication between the keeper and the striker right after the catch. Wonderfully done.

it looked like Tiago Alcantara smooth goal for Liverpool in UCL

It's certainly wonderful pass, reminded me of Trents similar pass

Yeah the one for Salah at West Ham in 2024. Genuinely might be the best assist I can remember where the scorer still has a bit to do
EDIT: Should be nearly assist as Salah's shot was saved

Salah didn’t score from that pass though

Oh you're totally right!! Mandela effect in full operation there.

Absolutely its an incredible pass, and I'm not trying to take anything away from it, but as the keeper he's able to control how it falls on to his foot, so comparing it with a de bruyne pass isn't quite the same imo

Fair point but I honestly don't think that takes anything away from it at all. It doesn't make any difference to the amazing technique and execution

Outfielders have to react to the ball and change their body shape to match the pass they're going to play. The keeper can decide exactly how he wants to take the ball on.
I'm absolutely nit picking here and respect your opinion btw

I don't even think it's nitpicky. It doesn't take away from the skill, and it is a valid point when comparing him to an outfield player
17. u/nurological · 2026-10-21 15:13 UTC
This is crazy nitpicking and the difficulty difference is at best minute if any at all
18. u/Nimbasa14 · 2026-10-21 15:54 UTC
It's not minute, you have so much more control of the ball dropping it from your hands, anyone who's played football a significant amount of time knows this
19. u/HorsesCantFly · 2026-10-21 14:31 UTC
Dude, being able to hold the ball in your hands, run to a spot, and drop it onto your foot is undeniably easier than playing a live ball from your feet. That being said, amazing pass and an amazing play.

Yeah, that’s a fair point. I don’t think it’s going too far to say that this is the best assist I’ve seen from a keeper, though. The awareness, the timing, the way he places and weights it perfectly. Really unbelievable.
